Clothes 4 all. Problem: When a woman flees her home to escape domestic violence many times are and her children are forced to start over. Leaving with nothing more than the clothes on there backs. Homeless men and woman around the world are left with one or two pairs of pants. Children are forced to go outside in the freezing cold weather because they have no coat.

My solution: Tons of clothing is dumped in the trash each month by local dry cleaners. These items are thrown out simply because the owner never paid or failed to return to pick them up. The owners don't want to store them so they simply dump them in the trash. On May April 30 I want everyone to make an effort to visit your local dry cleaner and ask him or her to donate these items. For a cause. Than take them to a local shelter or charity organization like domestic violence shelters. Bloggers write your local newspaper to broadcast the event.

Laska I was dating this girl for about two months. Things seem to be going very well between us. While out shopping for new clothes to wear for out next date night I ran into her and her husband ! Odd feeling I walked up to her and said hello she turned to the guy she was with and said " Honey this is Bryan a friend, Bryan this is my husband John." My eyes wide my jawed drooped and my heart shattered I muscled up the courage to shake his hand than walked away.

She must of forgot to mention that during one of our seven dates and sex. Three weeks later and I still have not heard form her. No return phone calls or answered emails. I stopped the stalking practice I just wanted an explanation maybe he was away than returned? Maybe she just forgot to tell me !

Since my calls and emailed have gone unanswered I assume it's just easier for her to ignore me than to admit the truth.

What are you thinking? Any advice for this guy?

I told my kids to be green, don't litter and respect nature or your hiney's will turn RED! LOL. Actually the middle aged one threw paper out the car window once. Not one of them wanted to admit who did it, at first.

So all three were handed trash bags, gloves and little patrol.
We made them walk the entire 8 block neighborhood doing trash detail. The other two ratted once they learned what was in store but the sentence was handed down to late for recovery at that point. They hate little detail and pooping scooping so much thats the new household punishment.

Green living slogans are starting to loose credibility among consumers and environmental groups. Green poo is still poo. The same goes for bleach. Just changing the label to green and adding images of streams and meadows only gives the illusion of an eco friendly product.

All I want for Christmas is a CURE.

Sadly by time you read this column at least 2 children in the US will loose their fight with cancer and this Christmas wish not answered.

Standing in the cold watching our local holiday parade.
The life float ( name I gave it ) the one that keeps driving by in my mind today. Riding on the float stood a little angle just 3 feet tall , no more than 8 years old , waving and smiling not bothered by the chilly wind blowing her hair.
She was wearing nothing more than a winter coat and a white silk ribbon across her heart that read " SURVIVOR" Next to her was a poster: The National Cancer Society.

Having 3 boys ages 8,10 and 11 my heart waged an emotional battle with my mind. When the float finally passed us I asked my kids " What if we give up all our extra gifts this year and help one of these boys or girls ; giving them gifts or hope ? "

Selfish of me?

This time of year many of us are worried about buying gifts and even more scared wondering how bad the US economic down turn will harm our good fortunes.

Did we choose to ignore and forget how many families will be not worried about presents and videos game but hoping for a cure. Left wondering each night if their child will survive.
Ask anyone of those innocent kids fighting cancer what he or she wants for Christmas; A game or A Cure..

PTC Welcomes Passage of the Child Safe Viewing Act

LOS ANGELES – The Parents Television Council™ praised the U.S. Congress for helping to protect children from indecent content on television and on the Internet. After reviewing the U.S. House version of the bill, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed the Child Safe Viewing Act (S. 602) sponsored by Senator Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), and the bill is expected to be signed into law by President George W. Bush.

The Child Safe Viewing Act will require the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to explore new technology and review current blocking devices, such as the V-chip, that are designed to help parents monitor their kids’ media consumption.

“Parents deserve better resources to help protect their children from inappropriate content on television. The current V-chip technology relies on inaccurate ratings. This legislation is an important first step towards the implementation of more functional and reliable solutions for parents and families. We applaud Congress for its commitment to better empower parents to protect their children,” said PTC President Tim Winter.

“Blocking technologies like the industry-touted V-chip rely on an accurate ratings system in order to work. Through its research, the PTC has found that TV ratings are applied to shows arbitrarily by the TV networks. Not only that, but TV ratings are often inaccurate – which renders the V-chip useless to parents. We hope that this legislation provides the path towards the much-needed change in the TV industry.”

Dealing with Pet Loss

Max my 15 year old faithful friend ; who has been by my side night and day for so long. With disabling arthritis and now lymphoma I am faced with either taking him off his anti inflammatory medication so he can begin chemo and prednisone medication in order to help him keep the cancer under somewhat control. Without his arthritic medicine Max is barely able to walk. However being on two NSAIDS would kill him. Greed tells me to keep him around for my sake which means no more pain medicines to hopefully continue pred and chemo and place the cancer in check. Or stop all chemo and pred and let him live out his last dieing days pain free. If even for a few more weeks.
